The County Down Fishing Villages
Network comprises of four villages, these villages
are listed below:

Portavogie
derives its name from Port an Bhogaigh,
which translated means "harbour of
the bog". This quiet fishing village
is the second largest fishing port next
to Kilkeel and the fleet of trawlers provides
a fascinating sight with daily comings and
goings.

Ardglass
derives its name from the Irish "ard
glas" - the green hill. It owes its
origins to the Anglo-Normans, but there
is little evidence of a settlement there
until the early middle ages.
